A few words on thankfulness

Happy Thanksgiving.

Today, we offer you these thoughts from the two people whose lives continue to inspire us at University of Detroit Mercy.

“The Lord and Master of our house and home is a faithful provider. Let us never desire more than enough—He will give that and a blessing,” wrote Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy, in a letter to a friend written in 1841.

St. Ignatius of Loyola, who founded the Society of Jesus, wrote: “It seems to me, though others may think differently, ingratitude is the most abominable of sins.”

May you always have enough and be thankful for what you have. We hope your gatherings are filled with love, your table has enough to feed you and your football team wins.
