High rankings from U.S. News & World Report

When U.S. News & World Report released its prestigious college rankings on Tuesday, Sept. 12, Detroit Mercy received some good news.

For the 17th consecutive year, the University is listed in the top tier of Midwest Best Regional Universities in the 2018 edition of the U.S. News & World Report‘s well-respected “Best Colleges.”

Detroit Mercy ranked No. 19 for Midwest Best Regional Universities and is the only university in Michigan to be listed in the top 25.

“Detroit Mercy’s rankings strongly affirm the quality of our talented students, high retention and graduation rates, and excellent student-to-faculty ratio,” said Dr. Antoine M. Garibaldi, president of the University.  “The growing number of applicants and third consecutive year of increase in students are clearly being influenced by these rankings as the University’s reputation rises,” he added.

  1. Totally worthy of that ranking. The University of Detroit (bec U of D – Mercy, ten years after my group graduated) is a diamond in the rough. Back in the day, you had to hv a 3.0 GPA, to be admitted, which I was able to achv in community college before applying to the college. Point being, it was a private college at the tine, and decided to open up its enrollment to high achieving students. I would hv nvr been able to attend a school like U of D, if it hadn’t been located in the City of Detroit and it having the wisdom to offer the opportunity to untraditional students like me.
