Regular readers of this blog may remember Rebecca “Bucky” Willis ’12 from this story

Now, Willis is the subject of an article by Model D – Detroit, which calls itself Detroit’s Online Magazine.

The article focuses on Willis’ nonprofit Bleeding Heart Design (b.h.d.), and the work she is doing in the northeast neighborhood known as Lindale Gardens — the place she grew up.

“I’ve never moved from the neighborhood because I want to hopefully help dispel the myth that once you reach a certain economic level or some type of educational level that you should move, which is of course a really prevalent myth in Detroit,” Willis told Model D. “I just acknowledge that I don’t have to leave the neighborhood to feel successful.”
