A Jesuit perspective on poverty

A local boy who now works in Rome as the General Treasurer of the Society of Jesus flew home earlier this month to share his worldwide perspective on poverty as a member of the Jesuits.

The local boy was J. Thomas McClain, S.J., who attended Gesu School, and graduated from University of Detroit Jesuit High School and then from University of Detroit in 1972. The occasion was a lunch with the Jesuit Alumni and Friends of Detroit at the Detroit Athletic Club on Feb. 13.

His presentation was titled “Jesuit Poverty: A Global Perspective From a Local Boy” and can be seen by clicking on the video above.
