Detroit Mercy alumni honored by state’s Irish Chamber

Detroit Mercy was represented well at last week’s Michigan Irish American Chamber of Commerce annual gala, with two alumni receiving prestigious awards.

Michael V. McGill ’95 received the group’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He founded Enniskerry Marketing, which provides remodeling products and services throughout the Midwest. In 2011, the cabinet division of Enniskerry became Apartment Cabinets and Countertops, Inc., which focuses on remodeling for the multifamily market.

Dave O’Connor ’16 is a fourth-generation of Ford Motor Co. and president of Premiere Cyber Shield, a cyber security consulting firm. He received the organization’s President’s Leadership Award at the event. He has served as president of the Michigan Irish American Chamber.

The event was hosted by Phil O’Dwyer ’76, who earned graduate degree in psychology at the University of Detroit. He was inducted into the Michigan Irish American Hall of Fame in 2015.
