Detroit Mercy Veterans Day recognition and pinning ceremony, Nov. 12

Detroit Mercy Veterans Day recognition and pinning ceremony, Nov. 12

Students, faculty and staff: Please join the Student Life Office and recognize 2018 Veterans Day. This year, a Veterans Pinning Ceremony  is open to the campus community on Monday, Nov. 12 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Ballroom.

The Veterans Pinning ceremony will publicly acknowledge the military service and sacrifices made by our Veterans and their families. The ceremony gives an opportunity for each veteran to share part of his or her story. This includes both active members and reserve members of the armed forces.

All members who have dedicated themselves to the armed forces will be honored as a part of the Detroit Mercy Veterans Day Program. In attendance will be members of the

  • Vietnam Veterans of America (Detroit) Chapter 9,
  • Michigan Veterans Foundation and
  • Detroit VA Medical Center.

Current students from the University and Gesu Catholic School will honor veterans during the ceremony.

This event is open to the public. Light refreshments will be served following the Veterans Day program. The event is sponsored by the Student Life Office and Student Program Board. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact the Student Life Office at 313-993-1154.
