Shayan Mirzaei (mirzaeha@udmercy.edu)
Shayan received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Guilan in 2011 and his M.Sc. in Control
Engineering from Shahid Beheshti University in 2014. He joined the University of Detroit Mercy and Dr. Parvini’s Lab as a
Ph.D. student in Fall 2017. Shayan’s research is on physics-based modeling and advanced control of energy storage systems
such as lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors.
M.Sc. Students:
Zhan Li (lizh8@udmercy.edu)
Zhan received his Bachelor’s degree in Vehicle Engineering from the Yancheng Institute of Technology, Yancheng,
Jiangsu, China, in 2015. He is currently a Master student in Mechanical Engineering. Zhan’s research is on lumped
modeling of lithium-ion batteries using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements.
