SUMMARY:Annual UCA Jesuit Martyrs Fundraiser dinner
DESCRIPTION:All are invited to enjoy an evening of Salvadoran pupusas\, cul
 tural expression and fellowship at the Universidad Centroamericana (UCA) J
 esuit Martyrs Fundraiser dinner on Wednesday\, April 2 at 6:45 p.m. in the
  Student Union Ballroom on the McNichols Campus. Learn about contemporary 
 Central America and help raise funds for an important scholarship!\n\nThis
  scholarship\, named after the six Jesuits\, their housekeeper and her dau
 ghter who were killed at UCA in November 1989\, funds university scholarsh
 ips for students from underprivileged families in El Salvador.\n\nMusic an
 d a Salvadoran dinner will be provided. All funds raised will benefit the 
 UCA Jesuit Martyrs Scholarship\, which was founded by Dean Brackley\, S.J.
 \n\nKeynote speaker Padre Melo\, who defends the rights of indigenous peop
 le\, water defenders and campesinos\, will share his memories of Fr. Brack
 ley. Melo was director of development for Radio Progreso and ERIC for over
  20 years. \n\nThis event is free for Detroit Mercy students. For all othe
 rs\, a donation for the UCA Jesuit Martyrs scholarship is requested.\n\nTh
 e event is co-sponsored by CLASA\, the Jesuit Community at Detroit Mercy\,
  Languages and Cultural Training\, Latinx Student Union and the Office of
