SUMMARY:Auditions for two Theatre Company productions
DESCRIPTION:Student auditions for the Detroit Mercy Theatre Company's produ
 ctions of "Kayak" and "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare" will be 
 held on Tuesday and Wednesday\, Feb. 13-14.\n\nThe auditions are set for T
 uesday\, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. inside of Reno Hall\, Room 164. Callbacks will 
 be the following evening\, Wednesday\, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. All gender ident
 ities will be considered for all roles.\n\nFor the audition\, please prepa
 re the two of the following sets of audition pieces:\n\n 	Two contemporary
  monologues (one comedic and one dramatic). Each piece should be two minut
 es or under.\n 	12-lines of Shakespeare from any Shakespeare play. NO SONN
 ETS. This can be on book (not memorized)\, but should be prepared and pres
 ented "as if" it is being performed. Any questions about this requirement\
 , reach out to Andrew Papa.\n\nThe callbacks will consist of improv and co
 ld readings from the scripts. Scripts and sides will be available through

 \nCharacter Breakdown — "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare" (All
  gender identities will be considered for all roles)\n\n 	Jess: The Schola
 r. Clearly wants to honor Shakespeare's profound influence on literature a
 nd the theatre.\n 	Adam: The Dunce. Adam wants to make Shakespeare fun and
  accessible\, but oftentimes gets it WAY wrong.\n 	Daniel: The Go-To. Dani
 el is reliable\, wanting to keep the show flowing\, and sometimes has to k
 eep Jess/Adam on track.\n\nCharacter Breakdown — "Kayak"\n\n 	Annie (fem
 ale identifying): Middle-aged homemaker who lives comfortably with her hus
 band Herb and her son Peter. She wants what is best for her son\, but heav
 ily treads the line of being a 'helicopter mom.'\n 	Peter (male identifyin
 g): College graduate\, little bit of a 'mama's boy\,' but seeking to claim
  his independence and find his place in the world.\n 	Julie (female identi
 fying): College student/environmental activist and outdoor enthusiast.\n 	
 Female &amp\; Male Newscaster: Associated press presence...experience with
  dialects a plus.\n 	Narrator: Will be cast from auditions (no sides for t
