DESCRIPTION:Detroit Mercy’s College of Liberal Arts &amp\; Education will
  host an information session Jan. 19\, 2023\, which includes news about a 
 new scholarship that provides significant financial support for graduate s
 tudents who enroll in the Clinical Psychology Master’s Program for the f
 all 2023 semester.\n\nThe Ignite Scholarship for Clinical Psychology maste
 r’s program students will help address the growing needs for mental heal
 th clinicians. To learn more about this significant scholarship\, interes
 ted individuals should attend the Jan. 19\, 2023\, virtual program informa

 .\n\nThe Ignite Scholarship offers qualified students significant financia
 l assistance for the three-year program as they work to become master’s-
 level psychological practitioners or to pursue additional graduate study.\
 n\nThe availability of this new scholarship comes at a pivotal time in U.S
 . society. According to the 2021 American Psychological Association’s (
 APA) COVID-19 Practitioner Survey\, demand for anxiety\, depression and tr
 auma-related treatment continues to rise due to the prolonged effects of t
 he pandemic. The survey also reported an increase in referrals for service
 s from 37% in 2020 to 62% in 2021 and that 68% of psychologists also had w
 ait lists.\n\n“The master’s program in Clinical Psychology in the Coll
 ege of Liberal Arts &amp\; Education is proud to provide the Ignite Schola
 rship to financially support graduate students and help meet this pressing
  need in today’s society\,” said CLAE Dean Jocelyn Boryczka. “Provi
 ding this important investment in our graduate students means we have the 
 chance to equip more professions with the academic training and hands-on s
 kills they need to help people\,” she added.\n\n“University of Detroit
  Mercy’s Master of Arts program for Clinical Psychology combines academi
 c rigor\, small cohorts\, individualized career planning and advising for 
 a unique experience\,” said Kristen Abraham\, associate professor and p
