DESCRIPTION:The sixth annual Dewitt C. Holbrook Lecture on Social Justice i
 s set for Monday\, April 1 from 5-6 p.m. at Detroit Mercy Law\, Room 226. 
 A reception will immediately follow the lecture in the atrium of the River
 front Campus. The event is free.\n\nFormer national security prosecutor an
 d current University of Michigan law professor Barbara McQuade will discus
 s the threat disinformation poses to our democracy\, public safety\, and t
 he rule of law in 2024's lecture\, titled "Attack from Within: How Disinfo
 rmation is Sabotaging America." It's also the title of McQuade's New York 
 Times bestselling book.\n\nThe talk will address the history and tactics o
 f disinformation\, as well as the cognitive forces that allow these effort
 s to work. The talk will also shared some proposed solutions to help out s
 ociety identify and defeat disinformation.\n\nThe lecture series is made p
 ossible through a grant from the Dewitt C. Holbrook Memorial Trust\, provi
 ding prominent leaders in the legal profession a forum to address issues o
