DESCRIPTION:Detroit Mercy's Ethics Bowl returns for all undergraduate stude
 nts on Friday\, Oct. 20 from 12-4 p.m.. It's the 20th installment of the c
 ompetition\, which was inspired by TV's College Bowl.\n\nTeams are compris
 ed of 3-5 students and this year's competition has room for 12 total teams
 . No specialized knowledge in ethical theory is required to compete in the
  Ethics Bowl.  Questions may address ethical dilemmas including classroom
  topics\, personal matters\, professional ethics and social and political 
 issues.\n\nStudent competitors from every part of the University are often
  surprised at how much they enjoy the contest and enthusiastically return 
 to compete in subsequent years.\n\nJudges and moderators are drawn from fa
 culty\, staff\, administration and alumni\, many of whom return every year
 . The panel of judges rate answers in terms of intelligibility\, focus\, d
 epth and judgement.\n\nThe first-place team has the honor or representing 
 Detroit Mercy at a regional Ethics Bowl and may go on to compete in the Na
 tional Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl\, which takes place at the annual meeti
 ng of the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics in February.\n
