DESCRIPTION:Detroit Mercy welcomes guest speaker\, Nada Fadul\, on Wednesda
 y\, April 1\, who will present virtually on the humanitarian crisis in Sud
 an and give a general overview of Sudan's history with an in-depth descrip
 tion of the current war\, including the role of international actors.\n\nT
 he presentation will begin at 5 p.m. Please register below to receive a Zo
 om link to the presentation.\n\nWith the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Su
 dan\, there are staggering numbers of casualties and many wounded\, displa
 ced or facing food insecurity. As hospitals and medical facilities continu
 e to be targeted in the conflict\, Fadul will discuss how mobile clinics a
 re trained to respond to medical crisis situations in these dangerous cond
 itions. She will also introduce SuDRO\, the organization she works with\, 
 which focuses on sustainable development and provides both primary care an
 d trauma services during the ongoing war.\n\nFadul is assistant dean and p
 rofessor of Medicine at the Division of Infectious Diseases\, University o
 f Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). She is a board member of the Sudanese Am
 erican Public Affairs Association (SAPAA).\n\nThis event is co-sponsored b

 ties\, Arts and Social Sciences (CHASS)\, and the Women's and Gender Studi
