SUMMARY:Phenomenal Women's Reception
DESCRIPTION:The Detroit Mercy community is invited to the 18th Phenomenal 
 Women’s Reception\, hosted 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday\, March 28 in the Stud
 ent Union Ballroom.\n\nThe reception\, hosted by the Student Life Office\,
  is dedicated to celebrating the lives of women at Detroit Mercy. Those wh
 o are planning on attending\, are asked to RSVP in advance through Detroi
 t Mercy Live.\n\nThe event is open to all students\, faculty and staff. Th
 e event is free for students and $10 for faculty and staff.\n\nTitle IX 
 Coordinator Megan Novell\, a graduate of the University\, will receive th
 e Ashley Grey Legacy Award. Novell\, who joined Detroit Mercy in 2006\, is
  also an adjunct professor for the English Department and is affiliate fac
 ulty for the Women’s and Gender Studies program.\n\nAs part of the event
 \, four students writers will each be reading their own\, original poem in
 spired by Maya Angelou’s “Phenomenal Woman\,” the iconic poem after 
 which the reception was named. Poet-in-residence Stacy Gnall organized t
 his portion of the event\, which is new this year. The four phenomenal stu
 dent poets who will read their work are: Allison Molloy\, Kristin Murphy\,
  Alyssa Porcerelli and Olivia Vitale.\nRSVP for Phenomenal Women’s Recep
 tion.
