DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendars and plan to attend the President's Convoca
 tion on Wednesday\, Aug. 16\, the official opening of the 2023-24 academi
 c year. \nThe activities will be in-person only and begin in the Student 
 Union Ballroom\, with breakfast served from 8:30-9:30 a.m. During the pro
 gram that will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m.\, you will meet our new vice pr
 esident for Mission Integration\, share updates on major initiatives and l
 ook ahead to the future with information on the next strategic planning pr
 ocess\, which we want all of you to be engaged in.\nAfter the program\, lu
 nch will be served in the Fountain Lounge\, which can also be enjoyed on t
 he Fountain Terrace and Overhang just outside. Yard games will be availabl
 e for a bit of light competition or you can challenge someone to a game of
  pool or ping pong in the Lower Level of the Student Union. \nCasual summe
 r attire is recommended so you can be comfortable as you enjoy the day. As
  always\, this is an important time as we welcome new community members an
 d catch up with friends and colleagues before the new year begins.
