With this comes potential for initiation events which may include substance misuse, injury, or worse.<\/p>\n<p>Why should hazing not happen? Sec. 411t.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.legislature.mi.gov\/(S(knxe5sbtn23ctvpejavlmttw))\/mileg.aspx?page=GetObject&amp;objectname=mcl-750-411t#:~:text=750.411t%20Hazing%20prohibited%3B%20violation,the%20hazing%20of%20an%20individual\"><strong>More from the Michigan Legislature on fines, penalties and potential imprisonment.<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>New member events and inductions can be safe, healthy and build positive and effective relationships. The website <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/stophazing.org\/\">StopHazing.org<\/a><\/strong> is an excellent resource for finding ideas that can be safe and fun, while also promoting togetherness within your organization. <em>Have fun, do good, and always be safe!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse of alcohol or other substances, Detroit Mercy&#8217;s Wellness Center provides counseling and support free of charge to all students.<\/p>\n<p>The Wellness Center is located on the McNichols Campus in West Quad, Room 104.
