With support from the Student Government Association, a $500 and $250 grant will be awarded to the first- and second-place proposal, respectively. Winning applicants will launch the new programs in the 2019-20 school year.<\/p>\n<p>Possible focus areas include food waste reduction, improving food security in nearby neighborhoods or supporting urban agriculture through service. For more information, contact Campus Kitchen staff coordinator Clara Gamalski at <a href=\"mailto:gamalscl@udmercy.edu\">gamalscl@udmercy.edu<\/a> or 313-993-1494.<\/p>\n<h2><em>Eligibility\/guidelines:<\/em><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>All Detroit Mercy students who will be enrolled in the 2019-20 school year are eligible.<\/li>\n<li>Proposals may be submitted by individuals or teams.<\/li>\n<li>Students may submit more than one proposal for different projects.<\/li>\n<li>Projects will be judged on creativity and feasibility.<\/li>\n<li>Projects must support <a href=\"https:\/\/campuskitchens.org\/what-we-do\/\">Campus Kitchen\u2019s Mission and Vision<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Projects can be recurring programs or one-time events.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must have a partner organization for this project. If it\u2019s a community program, a community organization must be on-board. If it\u2019s a campus event, an on-campus organization or office must be on-board.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>All applicants who meet submission requirements will receive an Emerging Leaders Program credit of +1 Leadership Development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do you have an idea about how to reduce hunger and food waste in our community?
