University Ministry reminds the Detroit Mercy community that every penny counts in helping continue this tradition of mission-related service. Consider supporting service immersion trips on the <a href=\"https:\/\/impact.udmercy.edu\/project\/12946\">Impact website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Service immersion trips educate students about the\u00a0social issues that create and perpetuate systemic injustice, foster and deepen faith lives, introduce diverse cultures and engage students in direct service. This year, University Ministry is sponsoring the following service immersion trips:<\/p>\n<h2>Spring Break Trips<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>What Makes a Home \u2013 Nazareth Farm, W. Va.<\/li>\n<li>Hunger and Homelessness \u2013 Mystery Trip (location is not disclosed)<\/li>\n<li>Inclusion and Reimagining Love \u2013 Misericordia Home, Chicago<\/li>\n<li>What\u2019s the Price of a Tomato? Farm Worker Rights \u2013 Immakolee, Fla.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Summer Break Trips<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Crispaz \u2013 El Salvador<\/li>\n<li>Mercy Focus on Haiti \u2013 Gros Morne, Haiti<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Over winter break, 12 students traveled together to El Paso to participate in Project Encuentro.
