The auditions are open to all students, whether majoring in theatre or not!<\/p>\n<p>The auditions are <strong>Monday, Nov. 11<\/strong>\u00a0at <strong>7 p.m.<\/strong> inside of Reno Hall, Room 164. Callbacks will be the following evening, <strong>Tuesday, Nov. 12<\/strong> at <strong>7 p.m.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the audition, please prepare <span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">one dramatic monologue that is 60-90 seconds in length.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Character Breakdown \u2014 &#8220;The Glass Menagerie&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Laura Wingfield:\u00a0<\/strong>Amanda\u2019s daughter and Tom\u2019s older sister. Laura has a bad leg, on which she has to wear a brace, and walks with a limp. Twenty-three years old and painfully shy, she has largely withdrawn from the outside world and devotes herself to old records and her collection of glass figurines.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tom Wingfield:\u00a0<\/strong>Amanda\u2019s son and Laura\u2019s younger brother. An aspiring poet, Tom works at a shoe warehouse to support the family. He is frustrated by the numbing routine of his job and escapes from it through movies, literature and alcohol.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jim O&#8217;Connor:\u00a0<\/strong>An old acquaintance of Tom and Laura. Jim was a popular athlete in high school and is now a shipping clerk at the shoe warehouse in which Tom works.
