{"id":20255,"date":"2025-02-01T14:46:31","date_gmt":"2025-02-01T19:46:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/campusconnection\/?p=20255"},"modified":"2025-02-04T00:13:01","modified_gmt":"2025-02-04T05:13:01","slug":"dmtc-presents-the-glass-menagerie-feb-7-16","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/campusconnection\/2025\/02\/01\/dmtc-presents-the-glass-menagerie-feb-7-16\/","title":{"rendered":"DMTC presents &#8216;The Glass Menagerie,&#8217; Feb. 7-16"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.udmercy.edu\/life\/theatre\/\">Detroit Mercy Theatre Company<\/a> brings Tennessee Williams\u2019 classic American play, <em>The Glass Menagerie<\/em>, to life across two weekends beginning <strong>Feb. 7 <\/strong>at the Marlene Boll Theatre located at 1401 Broadway Street in downtown Detroit.<\/p>\n<p>Set in St. Louis during the 1930s, the play follows the struggles of the Wingfield family as they navigate dreams, desires and the delicate balance between reality and illusion. Amanda, a faded Southern belle, yearns for her past glory as she cares for her restless son, Tom, and fragile daughter, Laura. Amanda pushes Tom to find a suitor for Laura, leading to the arrival of Jim, a gentleman caller, whose visit has unexpected consequences for the family.<\/p>\n<p>The plays run Friday, Saturday and Sunday across two weekends, <strong>Feb. 7-9<\/strong> and <strong>Feb. 14-16<\/strong>.
