The Department of Political Science<\/a> and the Women’s and Gender Studies Program<\/a> at Detroit Mercy are hosting a discussion in honor of International Women\u2019s Month on Tuesday, March 11 at 12:45 p.m.<\/strong> via Zoom. This year\u2019s theme is \u201cAccelerate Action.\u201d The theme calls for action to speed up gender equality in all spheres. In line with this theme, we will discuss mechanisms for managing gender inequity in academia.<\/p>\n

Gina Scutelnicu Todoran, professor of Public Administration at Pace University in New York, will lead the discussion and share insights from her book Managing Gender Inequity in Academia<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Scutelnicu Todoran has a Ph.D. in Public Affairs from Florida International University and is the chair of the Northeastern Conference of Public Administration. Scutelnicu Todoran’s research in gender and social equity has appeared in highly regarded journals in the field such as the Journal of Public Integrity <\/em>and\u00a0Public Administration Quarterly, <\/em>on which she also serves as associate editor, and Public Management and Social Policy <\/em>and Public Administration Review<\/em>. Scutelnicu Todoran has authored over 35 publications for both academic and practitioner audiences.<\/p>\n
