{"id":22360,"date":"2025-08-19T14:11:59","date_gmt":"2025-08-19T18:11:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/campusconnection\/?p=22360"},"modified":"2025-08-22T01:04:06","modified_gmt":"2025-08-22T05:04:06","slug":"new-leadership-academy-launching-at-udm-sign-up-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/campusconnection\/2025\/08\/19\/new-leadership-academy-launching-at-udm-sign-up-now\/","title":{"rendered":"New leadership academy launching at UDM; Sign-up now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Office of the Provost announced the inaugural UDM Leadership Academy, a new professional development series for staff, administrators and department chairs at the University.<\/p>\n<p>Led by Professor and Coordinator of the Leadership Minor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.udmercy.edu\/about\/people\/university\/admin\/institute\/staff\/don-dipaolo\">Don DiPaolo<\/a>, the program will offer monthly Friday afternoon sessions (October-April) focused on building skills, enhancing competencies and fostering a culture of excellence at Detroit Mercy.<\/p>\n<p>The Academy&#8217;s objective is to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide leadership skills training and enhancement.<\/li>\n<li>Build leadership competencies and capacities for both seasoned leaders and those new to leadership roles.<\/li>\n<li>Foster a culture of leadership excellence and distinction at UDM.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The inaugural class is limited to 35 spots, and interested participants must apply by <strong>Friday, Aug. 29<\/strong>. Supervisor approval is required for permission.<\/p>\n<p>Participants will meet monthly on Friday from <strong>12-5 p.m.<\/strong> in the College of Health Professions Building, Room 124, on the McNichols Campus, beginning with lunch each session.
