{"id":24773,"date":"2026-03-25T08:59:40","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T12:59:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/campusconnection\/?p=24773"},"modified":"2026-03-26T16:36:30","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T20:36:30","slug":"udm-to-host-aging-well-ai-challenge-on-april-10-submissions-due-march-30","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/campusconnection\/2026\/03\/25\/udm-to-host-aging-well-ai-challenge-on-april-10-submissions-due-march-30\/","title":{"rendered":"Submissions to AI AgeWell Challenge due March 30"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">The deadline is quickly approaching to submit your idea for the AI AgeWell Challenge. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The AI Challenge returns for its third year to UDM\u2019s McNichols Campus this April, bringing together students, faculty, community organizations and professionals to tackle real-world challenges using artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">This is your opportunity to turn a creative concept into an AI-powered solution that helps older adults live healthier, safer and more independent lives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Teams will explore AI solutions that help people thrive at every stage of life, in areas such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aging in place and independent living<\/li>\n<li>Mental health, social connection and loneliness<\/li>\n<li>Care coordination and caregiver support<\/li>\n<li>Chronic disease management and wellness<\/li>\n<li>Community access, equity and inclusion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Challenge participants can win cash prizes and sponsor-supported awards, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Innovator Award: $1,000 plus Tejara Innovation Hub Membership<\/strong> &#8212; Sponsored by AACC\/Tejara, this award honors the most creative and groundbreaking solution. The winning team will also receive mentorship, entrepreneurial support and a media spotlight on the AACC\/Tejara platform.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Impact Awards: Two $500 prizes<\/strong> &#8212; Sponsored by PACE Southeast Michigan, these awards recognize solutions with strong potential for real-world impact, equity, accessibility and measurable benefit for older adults.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Feasibility\/Market Readiness Award: $500 Prize<\/strong> &#8212; Awarded to the team with the clearest path to real-world deployment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Participants will work in interdisciplinary teams, receive mentorship and finalists will be selected to present their ideas in the live pitch competition on <strong>Friday, April 10, from 5-9 p.m.,<\/strong> in Room 114 of the Chemistry Building. The evening includes prizes, food and networking with campus and community partners. Students, faculty, mentors and sponsors are invited to participate.<\/p>\n<p>PACE Southeast Michigan&#8217;s mission is to keep chronically ill aging adults in their homes by supporting their medical, social and overall wellbeing.
