{"id":25389,"date":"2026-03-19T14:12:23","date_gmt":"2026-03-19T18:12:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/campusconnection\/?p=25389"},"modified":"2026-03-19T23:12:38","modified_gmt":"2026-03-20T03:12:38","slug":"udm-students-place-first-and-second-in-isaca-detroit-chapter-cybersecurity-case-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/campusconnection\/2026\/03\/19\/udm-students-place-first-and-second-in-isaca-detroit-chapter-cybersecurity-case-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"UDM students place first and second in ISACA Detroit Chapter Cybersecurity Case Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Four teams of Detroit Mercy students competed in the 12th Annual Detroit Chapter ISACA Cybersecurity Case Competition in March and brought home some hardware.<\/p>\n<p>During the competition, student teams work on a &#8220;real-world&#8221; Cybersecurity case study and present their conclusions to a panel of industry professionals who play the role of potential future employers. The competition consisted of 25 teams from five universities.<\/p>\n<p>Winners of this year&#8217;s cyber competition were as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First place went to UDM\u2019s Noel Renu and Adam Jamaleddin: $4,000 prize<\/li>\n<li>Second place (tie) went to UDM\u2019s Harrison Haviland-Longo &#8217;25 and UDM\u2019s Ali Laho and Jarod Cunningham. Each team won $2,500.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>UDM\u2019s fourth team, made up of students Samwell Mchunga, Eyitooni Oladipo, Angel Plamoottii and Shifa Khanom, received an honorable mention.
