{"id":25701,"date":"2026-04-23T10:51:41","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T14:51:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/campusconnection\/?p=25701"},"modified":"2026-04-23T10:51:41","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T14:51:41","slug":"help-plan-new-community-engagement-experience-for-ptv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/campusconnection\/2026\/04\/23\/help-plan-new-community-engagement-experience-for-ptv\/","title":{"rendered":"Help plan new community engagement experience for PTV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Interested in being part of an exciting new approach to the engagement portion of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.udmercy.edu\/life\/orientation\/ptv\/index.php\">Prologues, Transitions and Viewpoint <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.udmercy.edu\/life\/orientation\/ptv\/index.php\">\u00a0(PTV)<\/a> &#8212; the orientation program for incoming first-year students on the McNichols Campus?<\/p>\n<p>We are reimagining the engagement portion using the\u00a0 \u201cImmersion Day\u201d model developed by University Ministry. While service remains an important component of PTV, the new approach will include community engagement elements to introduce students to Detroit and the amazing organizations and creative ideas used to address particular challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Faculty and staff who participate may use Mission Leave to get paid for their involvement. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.udmercy.edu\/faculty-staff\/hr\/files\/Mission_and_Community_Service_Leave_Policy.pdf\">Learn more about Mission Leave.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A planning meeting will be held between <strong>May 5<\/strong> and <strong>May 15<\/strong> to explain the new approach and begin developing plans.
