Both events will take place in the Warren Loranger Architecture Building on the McNichols Campus.<\/p>\n<p>The event will feature:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lucas Hoops of Tecnol\u00f3gico de Monterrey and Corte por Fachada; and<\/li>\n<li>Blanmi N\u00fa\u00f1ez Torres of Ambulante AC and Tecnol\u00f3gico de Monterrey.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6>Film screening<\/h6>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, Oct. 21, 5-6:30 p.m.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><em>M\u00c1S QUE UNA CASA (More than Just a House) <\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Loranger Architecture Building Exhibition Space<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This 80-minute film explores vast social housing compounds that rise like archipelagos in remote areas, where despite uncertainty in the face of harsh reality, the communities pulse with unexpected life. The film is a portrait of a working-class generation determined to transform difficult living conditions into places they can call home.<\/p>\n<p>The film will be shown in Spanish with English subtitles. Registration for the film is encouraged but not required.<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.cloud.microsoft\/pages\/responsepage.aspx?id=2MKkyGi9ukC4tnUivppxcSERsC8dnPdAscxDKfpiQ4VUNzhQSzFJU0Y1VVNKOThMM0NFTTJXNUpRSS4u&amp;route=shorturl\">RSVP for film screening here.<\/a><\/h4>\n<h6>Workshop<\/h6>\n<p><strong>Thursday, Oct. 22, at 12:45-2 p.m.<\/strong><br \/>\n<em><strong>From Film to Action: Designing Film Mediation Strategies to Influence Public Policy<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<strong>Loranger Architecture Building, Peter Peirce Room 207\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In this workshop, participants will identify opportunities for civic engagement and potential pathways to influence public policy in answer to the following questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How can we transform a cinematic experience into a tool for civic participation and public advocacy?<\/li>\n<li>How can the conversations sparked by a film lead to collective actions that influence the decisions shaping our communities and territories?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A light lunch will be provided.
