data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/>University of Detroit Mercy recently became a member of the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD), an independent professional development center dedicated to helping faculty make successful transitions throughout their careers.<\/p>\n<p>The NCFDD works with colleges, universities, organizations and individuals to help increase productivity, establish and maintain work-life balance, create broad networks of collegial support on campus and develop a committed stance toward their institutional home.<\/p>\n<p>The center offers a curriculum designed to help support the development strategic planning, writing habits, healthy resolutions of conflicts, managing stress and rejection, and cultivating a network of mentors, sponsors and collaborators.<\/p>\n<p>Institutional membership provides faculty, graduate students, administrators and post-docs access to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A weekly newsletter<\/li>\n<li>Monthly core curriculum webinars<\/li>\n<li>Webinars and multi-week skill-building courses<\/li>\n<li>Dissertation success curriculum for advanced graduate students<\/li>\n<li>Writing challenges<\/li>\n<li>Discussion forum for peer-mentoring and problem-solving<\/li>\n<li>Monthly accountability buddy matches, by request<\/li>\n<li>Moderated monthly writing challenges<\/li>\n<li>Full library of previous webinar and multi-week course recordings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Individuals can claim their memberships by following the steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facultydiversity.org\/join\">facultydiversity.org\/join<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Select your institution from the drop-down menu and click \u201cContinue.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>On the institution\u2019s landing page, click \u201cActivate My Membership.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Complete a brief registration form using your institution email address.<\/li>\n<li>Open your institution
