Celebrate Spirit! is the official welcoming event to the new academic year and part of a tradition dating from European universities in the Middle Ages. This year\u2019s theme is \u201cIn Solidarity,\u201d focused on a determination to commit oneself to the common good. Judy Mouch, RSM will give a reflection and provide insight into the life and legacy of Catherine McAuley. Mercy Day is officially celebrated on Sept. 24. Students and employees alike are invited to the virtual Busy Persons Retreat. Each participant will be paired with a spiritual director and meet for one hour virtually each week this October. Your spiritual director will listen and help direct your life toward God. Tutors can set their own hours for this weekly commitment. Tutors will also participate in monthly formation discussions and check-ins with University Ministry. This year\u2019s conference will be held virtually on Oct. 24 and 25. Listen to nationally distinguished speakers, participate in peer-led breakout sessions and enjoy advocacy reflection discussions. In-person, socially-distanced delegation gatherings are a possibility, but currently TBD.
