{"id":6456,"date":"2021-02-12T15:32:42","date_gmt":"2021-02-12T20:32:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/campusconnection\/?p=6456"},"modified":"2021-02-11T15:34:54","modified_gmt":"2021-02-11T20:34:54","slug":"black-history-month-library-display","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/campusconnection\/2021\/02\/12\/black-history-month-library-display\/","title":{"rendered":"Black History Month Library display"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The McNichols Campus Library is pleased to invite students, faculty and staff to see the Black History Month exhibit, \u201cEqual Justice Under Law, and the Fight to Hold Government Accountable.\u201d The lobby exhibit, which complements University Ministry and Detroit-based artist and educator Carole Morisseau\u2019s Healing Wall, features four windows \u2013 each geared toward a critical law, court case or social reaction illustrating attempts to promote or limit equal justice for Black people. Also included are copies of the 1965 Alabama literacy test, used to disenfranchise African American voters, and a look at Black Lives Matter\/#SayTheirNames through the pictures and words of Black people killed by police and civilians.
