Detroit Mercy\u2019s School of Architecture & Community Development (SACD) is hosting its first lecture of the academic year on Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. in the Loranger Architecture Building\u2019s exhibit hall.<\/p>\n
The lecture focuses on the book, Teaching and Designing in Detroit: Ten Women on Pedagogy and Practice<\/em>, edited by former Dean Stephen Vogel and Professor Libby Balter Blume. Serving as keynote speakers are Leslie Kanes Weisman, author of Discrimination by Design<\/em>, and Sharon Egretta Sutton, author of When Ivory Towers Were Black<\/em>, who provide framework for the book. Additional authors will participate in a panel discussion following the keynote speakers.<\/p>\n An exhibit that features content from book contributors is paired with the lecture. The exhibit is open Oct. 24-29 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n The lecture and exhibit are free and open to the public.
