{"id":9067,"date":"2021-12-14T11:18:20","date_gmt":"2021-12-14T16:18:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/campusconnection\/?p=9067"},"modified":"2021-12-16T16:36:48","modified_gmt":"2021-12-16T21:36:48","slug":"30000-plus-in-scholarships-available-through-business-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/campusconnection\/2021\/12\/14\/30000-plus-in-scholarships-available-through-business-challenge\/","title":{"rendered":"$30,000-plus in scholarships available through business challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>More than $30,000 in college scholarships are up for grabs for Detroit Mercy students through a business challenge, sponsored collaboratively by the Michigan Colleges Alliance and Ford College Community Challenge.<\/p>\n<p>The Center for Social Entrepreneurship will be hosting an information session on the challenge on Jan. 11 from 12:45-1:30 p.m. in Commerce &amp; Finance, room 138. Lunch and beverages will be provided.<\/p>\n<p>Teams of 3-5 students will be challenged with coming up with innovative solutions to community problems, in partnership with a local non-profit organization. The competition is a two-part challenge with teams competing at the state level first, followed by going to the national level. There is $7,500 in scholarship money for the most compelling and actionable team proposals at the state level and an additional $25,000 awarded at the national level.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the challenge, please visit <a href=\"https:\/\/fordfund.org\/united-states\">fordfund.org<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/michigancolleges.org\/\">michigancolleges.org<\/a>.
