Assistant Professor of English Stephen Pasqualina’s essay “Before the Ship and the Plantation: Zora Neale Hurston’s Barracoon and Blackness as Totality” was published in the Summer 2023 issue of MELUS: Multi-Ethnic Literature of the United States.
He also presented a paper on W.E.B. Du Bois and transnationalism at the Modernist Studies Association conference as part of a seminar titled “The Legacies and Afterlives of Black Modernism.”
