Students from Professor Felicia Grey’s Legal Research class visited the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan this past semester. As part of their hands-on learning experience, students observed both civil and criminal federal cases in session.
They also had the unique opportunity to engage with judges and attorneys, gaining insight into courtroom procedures and the roles within the federal legal system. This visit directly supported their classroom studies on the separation of powers, jurisdiction, and the structure of the U.S. court system, offering a real-world connection to their academic work.
