CHASS Faculty and Staff Honored at Spotlight on Excellence

Several faculty and staff from the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences were recognized this week during Detroit Mercy’s Spotlight on Excellence event for their leadership, service, and commitment to the campus community.

● Prof. Lee Eshelman (Psychology) received the Faculty Recognition Award for his contributions to teaching and program development.

● Prof. Felicia Grey (Political Science) was awarded a Jesuit Formation Summer Stipend, supporting her continued engagement with Jesuit teaching principles.

● Prof. Justin Kelly, S.J. (Religious Studies) was granted the title of Jesuit Emeritus, honoring more than fifty years of service to the University.

● Dr. Donald DiPaolo (Leadership) received the University Mission Leadership Award for connecting leadership education with the University’s mission.

● Angela Davis, CHASS Operations Manager, earned the Staff Recognition Award for her reliable, behind-the-scenes work that supports the college’s daily operations.

The recognition reflects the ongoing impact CHASS faculty and staff have across the university—not through grand gestures, but through consistent, meaningful work.
