Detroit Mercy Theatre Company Earns Kennedy Center Honors for Shakespeare Production

The Detroit Mercy Theatre Company has been recognized by the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) National Awards Committee for its production of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)[revised][again].

The show earned several national commendations:

● Distinguished Achievement in Audience Interaction – awarded to the full company for its direct engagement with the crowd.

● Distinguished Achievement in Backstage Run Crew – Josiah Martelle and Li Udell were recognized for their work behind the scenes.

● Distinguished Achievement in Properties Design – Alan Batkiewicz was commended for his prop design.

● Distinguished Achievement in Performance Ensemble – Mason Modzelewski, Gavin Rapuzzi, and Jordan Collyer were acknowledged for their ensemble performance.

The recognition highlights the range of talent—onstage and off—within this year’s production.
