On December 2, Detroit Mercy’s Emerging Leaders Program will host its annual Leadership Slam, bringing together two exceptional alumni whose career journeys exemplify resilience, innovation, and transformative leadership.
Students will have the chance to learn directly from Angelo Vitale, J.D., retired General Counsel of Rocket Companies, and Michael Birney, B.B.A., CMO of 1 Natural Way. Both speakers will present in Slam 1 and Slam 2, offering multiple chances for attendees to engage and gather practical lessons they can apply to their own leadership paths.
Vitale, former CEO of Rocket Central and EVP/General Counsel of Rocket Mortgage, will share insights from decades of executive experience in legal strategy, corporate governance, and organizational culture.
Birney, a former Google Growth Strategy Manager and MLL Champion, will discuss how advanced marketing strategy, teamwork, and data-driven innovation shaped his success as a marketing executive.
This event provides an outstanding opportunity for students to build leadership skills, earn ELP credit (+1 Leadership Development), and be inspired to take bold steps in their personal and professional growth.
