
The Writing Center will host a series of interactive workshops this semester designed to support students across disciplines and at every stage of the writing process. All workshops take place from 1:00–1:45 p.m. in Briggs 127 and are open to all students.
Tuesday, January 27 – Understanding Your Professor’s AI Policies
This workshop helps students navigate the wide range of AI policies they may encounter across courses. Participants will learn how to read syllabi carefully, understand instructor expectations, ask productive questions, and use AI tools ethically and responsibly in academic writing.
Thursday, February 5 – Preparing for Effective Peer Review
Designed especially for first-year writing students, this workshop focuses on how to read peers’ drafts with attention to clarity, argument, and audience. Students will practice giving specific, respectful feedback and learn how peer review can strengthen their own writing.
Tuesday, March 17 – Writing Lab Reports
This workshop introduces the key components of lab reports and explains what instructors typically expect in each section. Students will learn strategies for clearly presenting data, analyzing results, and communicating findings effectively across science courses.
Tuesday, April 21 – Source Management, Integration, and Citation
Participants will explore practical strategies for managing academic sources and integrating them smoothly into their writing. The workshop covers organizing sources, incorporating them into arguments, and creating accurate bibliographic entries using various citation styles.
