Black History Month Kick-Off Event with Prof. Kidada E. Williams

Black History Month kicks off at UDM on Thursday, February 6th at 7 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom with an enlightening discussion of Prof. Kidada E. Williams’s, I Saw Death Coming.  This acclaimed book chronicles the struggles of formerly enslaved people during Reconstruction. Williams’s work draws on overlooked archives and trauma scholarship to reveal the enduring impact of Ku Klux Klan attacks on survivors and their descendants.

Don’t miss this opportunity to delve into a transformative narrative and explore new perspectives on American history! This event is sponsored by the African American Studies, the Black Abolitionist Archive, History Department, Alumni Relations, and CHASS.
