WJR’s “Michigan Voices,” hosted by CHASS alum Marie Osbourne, recently featured Dean Jocelyn Boryczka and Gavin Rapuzzi (Performing Arts major, ’26) who discussed the grand opening of the Detroit Mercy Black Box Theatre.

Dean Jocelyn highlighted the vision behind the space, its role in fostering innovative performances, and significance for student artists and the broader community. Gavin Rapuzzi spoke to what such a space means not only to Performing Arts majors, but to students from across campus. Marie Osbourne shared remembrances of her performances as a student. Twelfth Night, the theatre’s inaugural production, was spotlighted to feature how students, partnering with alumni, take to the stage to reach for the magis, the more.
