Get ready for Triptych #2 with Donika Kelly

Detroit Mercy’s English Department brings poet Donika Kelly to the virtual stage as the second author in the 2024 Triptych visiting author series on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m. This event is hosted by Detroit Mercy Poet-in-Residence Stacy Gnall and is co-sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts & Education, African American Studies program, Women’s and Gender Studies program, Student Life and the Office of Title IX. Kelly is the author of The Renunciations, winner of the Anisfield-Wolf book award in poetry, and Bestiary, winner of the 2015 Cave Canem Poetry Prize, a Hurston/Wright Legacy Award for Poetry and the Kate Tufts Discovery Award. Her poetry has been a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award, the Publishing Triangle Awards, the Lambda Literary Awards, and has been longlisted for the National Book Award. She earned an MFA from the University of Texas at Austin and a Ph.D. in English from Vanderbilt University. She teaches creative writing at the University of Iowa.
