Become a Part of CHASS History: Contribute to the Glass Mosaic Art Project!

Time is running out to leave your mark on Detroit Mercy’s McNichols Campus! CHASS is commissioning a stunning glass mosaic as this year’s Celebrate Spirit gift to the University. Created by Detroit artist Darcel Deneau, known for her vibrant cityscapes of Detroit, the mosaic will be permanently displayed in the Black Box Theatre lobby—a lasting tribute to radical hospitality and our diverse community.

🔹 How You Can Contribute:

We invite faculty, students, and community partners to donate a small object (1-2 inches) that represents your department, student group, or community ties. These objects will be embedded in the mosaic, creating a visual story of our shared history. A key will accompany the artwork, identifying each contribution.

🔹 Submission Details:

📄 Pick up an “Object Contribution Form” in the CHASS Dean’s Office (Briggs 108).

📦 Place your form & object in the “CHASS Glass Mosaic Project” envelope.

📍 Deliver to Briggs 108 by Friday, April 18, 2025.

⚠️ Objects should not be valuable and must be small (1-2 inches).

This is a one-of-a-kind chance to help create a lasting piece of public art that represents Detroit Mercy’s spirit of collaboration. Don’t miss out—contribute today!
