On Wednesday, September 25, CHASS hosted a Night at Comerica Park for the College’s faculty, staff, students, alumni, families, and friends. CHASS secured two-hundred free tickets and discounted parking to make this event available to the community. This event celebrated the College’s renaming and kicked off the Discover Detroit series coordinated by Associate Dean Greg Grobis to build community while getting CHASS involved in area experiences from arts and culture to sports.
The Detroit Tigers secured a decisive 7-1 victory against the Tampa Bay Rays. The win put the Tigers just two victories away from clinching a playoff spot, generating the excitement of the season as fans rallied behind the team
Adding to the evening’s festivities was a visit from Kara Wolfbauer, the Class of 2023 valedictorian and host for the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings. Wolfbauer engaged with attendees, enhancing the sense of community among those present and celebrating the spirit of the night.
The event highlighted the pride of the College for Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, creating an atmosphere of unity and support as the Tigers continued their playoff push.
