Professors Claudia Bernasconi, School of Architecture & Community Development, and Libby Balter Blume, Professor Emerita in the College of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences, have signed a book contract with the academic publisher Routledge.
The forthcoming volume will examine transdisciplinary research and pedagogy in architecture, with an emphasis on approaches that integrate perspectives from multiple fields. According to the authors, the project will draw on case studies, scholarly literature, and applied experiences to explore how cross-disciplinary collaboration can inform architectural education and practice.
The work represents an academic partnership between the School of Architecture & Community Development and the College of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences. It contributes to ongoing faculty research at Detroit Mercy that addresses complex social, cultural, and environmental challenges through innovative and community-engaged scholarship.
Publication is expected following completion of the manuscript in the coming year.
