The Glass Menagerie Opens This Weekend!

The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams presented by The Detroit Mercy Theatre Companyruns from February 7-9 and February 14-16 at the Marlene Boll Theatre in downtown Detroit. Directed by Joe Bailey, this American classic explores themes of memory, ambition, and the delicate balance between reality and illusion. 

Set in 1930s St. Louis, the play follows Amanda Wingfield, a former Southern belle, as she navigates life with her restless son Tom and fragile daughter Laura. When Tom brings home a gentleman caller, long-held hopes and tensions come to the surface with lasting consequences. 

 

Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. The production runs approximately two hours, including a 15-minute intermission.
