This upcoming weekend<\/strong>, the Detroit Mercy Theatre Company host three more productions of <\/span>The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)[revised][again]<\/span><\/i> by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield at the Marlene Boll Theatre inside Detroit\u2019s Boll Family YMCA (1401 Broadway in Detroit) on April 19, 20, 21<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This fast-paced, irreverent com<\/span>edy tasks three student actors with putting on the complete catalogue of William Shakespeare in under two hours. It features a mix of slapstick humor, clever wordplay, and audience participation. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt has been refreshing to see what new perspectives and ideas the actors want to integrate, in addition to the overall vision and direction I want to see for the show,\u201d said Prof. Andrew Papa, director, and Chair of the Department of Performing Arts.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Papa is excited to reimagine Shakespeare\u2019s stories through a modern lens.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI guess that\u2019s what I\u2019m most excited about: seeing what new things we can bring to this show to make it accessible to 2024 audiences,\u201d Papa said. \u201cWhether you love Shakespeare or can\u2019t stand him, everyone will find something to love in this hilarious play.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The DMTC ticket office is open Tuesday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Detroit Mercy\u2019s McNichols Campus. Individual ticket prices are $25 for adults, $18 for seniors and Detroit Mercy faculty, staff and alumni, $10 for veterans and students (ages 4-college). Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
