This week, as part of Black History Month, panelists delivered <\/span>a powerful discussion on <\/span>\u201cThe Talk\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u2014the conversation <\/span>that <\/span>African American parents have had for generations with their children, especially their sons, to help keep them safe in encounters with law enforcement and authority figures.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The panel featured <\/span>CHASS P<\/span><\/b>rofessors <\/span><\/b>Roy Finkenbine, Erick Barnes, and Justice Williams, joined by<\/span><\/b> former <\/span><\/b>police, parents, and local journalist Greg Bowens<\/span><\/b> who<\/span> offer<\/span>ed<\/span> diverse perspectives on this topic <\/span>that continues to be critical in our times<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
