We will celebrate our accomplishments, collaborations, and community that define the College of Humanities, Arts &amp; Social Sciences.<\/p>\n<p>The day begins with the Dean\u2019s Lecture from 12:30\u20132:00 p.m., featuring Stephen Pasqualina, Assistant Professor of English and Director of the University Honors Program. Prof. Pasqualina will present \u201c\u2018Strangely Familiar:\u2019 Thinking Through the Color-line,\u201d a reflection on his Winter 2025 Black Modernisms course. His lecture explores the politics of representation in African American literature and visual culture, highlighting how literary and Black studies can deepen our understanding of difference across people, places, and time.<\/p>\n<p>The Dean\u2019s Lecture honors a CHASS faculty member whose work embodies the College\u2019s mission and commitment to diversity through teaching, scholarship, and service.<\/p>\n<p>Following the lecture, the College Meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m. We will celebrate our achievements, recognize the recipient of the Magis Faculty Recognition Award, review the past three years, and look ahead to the ever-brighter future of CHASS.<\/p>\n<p>We will end the day in true CHASS spirit with Briggs on the Porch at 3:30 p.m.\u2014an informal gathering with food, music, and great company.<\/p>\n<p>This event also marks a special milestone\u2014our first anniversary as CHASS.
