Prof. Camille Howard, Department of Criminal Justice, recently hosted an engaging, CSI-style, hands-on forensics experience for her students in and outside the Briggs Building. Detroit Police helped to curate the simulation and worked with students to amplify their hands-on learning. Engaging in realistic investigative scenarios allowed students to build their forensic and analytical skills.<\/p>\n

Two student groups participated in separate simulations. The first worked through an outdoor scenario staged as a Halloween party gone wrong, complete with a marked crime scene that students documented, analyzed, and interpreted.<\/p>\n

The second group conducted their investigation inside the Briggs Building. They navigated an indoor crime scene, examined evidence, reconstructed the sequence of events, and collaborated to determine possible explanations.<\/p>\n
