At the College meeting, Dean Jocelyn Boryczka, clad in a Detroit Lions sweatshirt, concluded the meeting with an exuberant Go Lions! in support of their game that could bring home team to the Superbowl.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The winter College meeting provided an opportunity for faculty and staff to come together as a community for the second of three meetings that Jocelyn Boryczka, dean of the College of Liberal Arts & Education (CLAE), has planned to connect the College community and generate excitement for the semester ahead.   <\/p>\n

During the meeting, the leadership of CLAE Shared Governance introduced themselves, spoke to the responsibilities of each committee and updated the faculty on various initiatives like the upcoming faculty development workshops. \u201cCollaboration between the Dean\u2019s Office and Shared Governance is key to charting the College\u2019s future as we make decisions through a deliberative, democratic process to ensure faculty voice and engagement,\u201d said Boryczka. Faculty and staff met CLAE\u2019s new student ambassadors, who will serve as an integral part of the College\u2019s recruitment and retention strategy. The student ambassadors will play a critical role in connecting prospective students with the university, providing a genuine insight into campus life and the University’s culture. Ambassadors will actively promote the College, engaging in various duties such as attending events, managing social media content, assisting in academic panel presentations and participating in initiatives focused on connecting future students with our  community. Their involvement will extend to organizing and participating in campus tours, Titan for a Day experiences and various outreach activities, effectively showcasing the University’s diverse opportunities and academic strengths.  <\/p>\n

The College is excited to welcome the new student ambassadors representing the humanities, arts and social sciences.<\/p>\n

    Faculty and staff have upcoming opportunities to build community at the upcoming Dean\u2019s Coffee Hours Tuesday, Feb. 6 from 9-10 a.m. in Briggs 105 and Wednesday, Feb. 7 from 11-Noon in Reno 200. <\/p>\n

    The final College meeting of the academic year will be on Wednesday, May 1 in the Architecture Exhibition space followed by a Briggs on the Porch celebration to close out the year. <\/p>\n
