O Clavis David<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Even in the darkness where I sit
\nAnd huddle in the midst of misery
\nI can remember freedom, but forget
\nThat every lock must answer to a key,
\nThat each dark clasp, sharp and intricate,
\nMust find a counter-clasp to meet its guard,
\nParticular, exact and intimate,
\nThe clutch and catch that meshes with its ward.
\nI cry out for the key I threw away
\nThat turned and over turned with certain touch
\nAnd with the lovely lifting of a latch
\nOpened my darkness to the light of day.
\nO come again, come quickly, set me free
\nCut to the quick to fit, the master key.<\/p>\n
